It’s official, tangerine’s out and emerald green is in – Pantone picks color of 2013

Catherine Zeta Jones showed us why she’s Hollywood royalty in an emerald Monique Lhuillier at the 2011 Golden Globes
Tangerine is out and Emerald Green is in. It’s official, Pantone has announced the regal color that is Emerald Green as the official color of 2013. This shocking, rich hue is right in line with the gorgeous colors shown on this past year’s runways. Interestingly enough, this particular shade of green has been burning up the red carpets as well as the runways for quite some time now, so it makes sense that it’s coming to the forefront of fashion in the upcoming year. It’s a color that transcends trends and seasons. It can go from a structured sheath to a ball gown and back to skinny jeans. In honor of this stunning color, we’ve combed our Rue de Chic Blog archives for some of our favorite Emerald Green looks. So, are you excited to get green? Tell us what you think about Pantone’s pick for color of the year below.

Stylist’s Corner: Steal this look (Watercolor print dresses)
Summer is the time to experiment with a melange of beautiful colors and this summer all the gorgeous colors we love are coming together to form an irresistible watercolor print. The boldness of this print takes inspiration from the 70s era which dominated the catwalks for spring and summer.
The watercolor print is easy to dress up or down. You can take it to the beach, lunch or dinner. It’s bold yet practical and works with a variety of skin tones. It will also carry effortlessly into fall which means you’ll be getting a lot of use from it. Check out the Stars already in love with this print.
Below is a picture of me wearing one of my favorite watercolor print dresses pre-spring. For summer, I pair it with bold-hued strappy sandals (both high-heeled and flat) or dark cognac colored wedges. You can also throw on a boyfriend blazer to tone the colors down. This addition works whether you’re dressing up or going casual. What are your thoughts on the watercolor print? Would you wear it?
