Fashion round-up: Chic looks of the week
Jennifer Lopez looks stunning in an electric blue dress by Georges Chakra
With the summer season slowly coming to an end and the fall season creeping in, it’s interesting to see the mix of looks trending during this in between season on the red carpet. Electric blue was the go-to color this past week with stars like Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba and Kirsten Dunst making statements in this bold hue. Red was also a hot trend and so was lace and laser cut leather. While stars like Twilight’s Ashley Greene chose bright colors to help them stand out, bold print continued to reign supreme with Gwyneth Paltrow, Nina Dobrev, Zooey Deschanel and Maria Sharapova opting to show off in everything from batik to floral and polka dot prints. Notable Events: Clos du Bois channels the Moulin Rouge, launches delicious new red
Stylish ladies: Eva Amurri in head to toe Vince Camuto, Jaime King in red and Mandy Moore in a sheath dress
Who: Clos du Bois and wine maker Gary Sitton took over Hollywood last night to celebrate the launch of Clos du Bois Rouge.
What: A Moulin Rouge themed event complete with can-can dancers, delicious crepes, hors d’oeuvres and flowing Clos du Bois.
Where: Bar Marmont at Chateau Marmont in Hollywood.
Notable: Stylish ladies Jamie King (Hart of Dixie), Mandy Moore, Jessica Lowndes (90210) and Eva Amurri (Californication, How I Met Your Mother) all stopped by to celebrate Clos du Bois Rouge.

Jessica Biel and Kate Beckingsale wow at the London premiere of Total Recall
Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale continue to pull out all the fashion stops while promoting Total Recall. This week, the beautiful pair took over London in coordinating black and white looks. Jessica, a constant supporter of Giambattista Valli sported a feathered and embroidered look from the edgy designer coupled with a pair of neon colored Louboutins. It’s not the first time during this promotional tour that she’s worn a look from Valli. She recently went wild in animal print while promoting the movie in New York. Kate also showed off her fashion chops in an elegant, black Donna Karan number accentuated with a big bow and thigh high slit. She finished off her look with a pair of Ferragamo heels. Who wore it best: Two Jennifers take on Tom Ford’s sexy backless zipper dress
A tale of two Jennifers in Tom Ford
Stating that Tom Ford is a bit of a design genius is a bit of an understatement. From his days at Gucci to designing for his eponymous line, pretty much everything that he’s touched seems to make sense, fashion-wise. He gets sexy but he also gets restrained elegance (as witnessed by his directorial debut “A Single Man” which starred Oscar Winner Colin Firth.) Hollywood on the other hand also gets Ford which explains the popularity of his pieces since he recently made a come back. Stars like Jennifer Aniston can’t get enough of his line, sporting pieces everywhere from New York to Paris. The latest runaway hit comes courtesy of his backless zipper dress and Hollywood is clearly a fan with heavy hitters like Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Lawrence and even Kim Kardashian (good thing?) sporting the look in different colors.

So who wore it best? Jennifer Lawrence was the first to sport this look on her promotional tour for Hunger Games. Wearing her hair sleek straight, she played off the dress’ gold zipper with some chunky gold heels and finished off her look with red lips. Jennifer Lopez on the other hand opted for some color, sporting the red version while celebrating her 43rd birthday. She looked fabulous in a pair of matching cap-toe Louboutins and finished off her look with an edgy clutch complete with attached wrist cuff. This is a tough call but we’re giving this round to Jennifer Lopez, she looks fantastic at 43 and as much as we love the ever faithful LBD, we love a good LRD more. Who do you think wore it best? Transitioning effortlessly into fall
Another season passing, another seasoning approaching. Fall is once again upon us and it’s time to start thinking about transitioning your look. What I love most about the in-between season is taking some of my favorite pieces from the old season and incorporating them into the new. The look: Above is my favorite light weight cream jacket which is perfect for the L.A weather paired with an oldie but a goodie — an oatmeal colored Calvin Klein dress with beautiful stitching details. Actress, Jaime King is red hot in lace Marchesa
This past week was filled with color, color and more color. Not ready to let go of summer, stars like Jennifer Garner, Emmy Rossum, Jessica Biel and Kerry Washington stepped out in the most beautiful hues. While color took over the carpet, lace was a fabulous go-to trend for ladies like Jaime King, Jordana Brewster and Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks and Jessica Pare. Finishing things off in our trend report, we also spotted some very stylish prints courtesy of equally stylish stars like Revenge’s Ashley Madekwe in a gorgeous paint splatter-print Zimmermann frock and Olga Kurylenko in an illusion print Peter Pilotto. Solange Knowles’ recent style transformation has paid off big time. The sometimes DJ and sister of superstar singer Beyoncé has landed a contract with fashion company Madewell. The sister company of J.Crew has worked with the likes of Dree Hemmingway as well as Alexa Chung who actually designed a collection for the brand. It’s not Solange’s first turn as cover girl either. Blake Lively is golden for Gucci
Gossip Girl alum Blake Lively is channeling old Hollywood glamour in her first ad for Gucci’s “Premiere” perfume. The 30 second spot helmed by “Drive” Director Nicolas Winding Refn sees Lively strutting down the hallway of a gorgeous Los Angeles home in a beautiful, backless gold dress.

The ad is slightly reminiscent of Charlize Theron’s spot for Dior but the statuesque blonde holds her own.
