Starting off with the best dressed ladies of the night… (more…)
Music’s biggest night was back in full force this year and despite the somber mood created by Whitney Houston’s untimely passing, the red carpet was still filled with some very hot, incredibly quirky and over the top looks. From Nicki Minaj’s inexplicable “little red riding hood” getup to Carrie Underwood’s glittering number, here’s a break down of the best and worst looks of the night.
If there’s one woman who knows how to dress her body to perfection in Hollywood, it’s Salma Hayek. A current style fixture on the red carpet, she chooses cuts and styles that accentuate her hour glass figure without missing a beat. It’s only February but Spring has officially taken over Hollywood, with floral print ruling the red carpet this week. From Kanye’s edgy but sour look to Mary J. Blige’s animal print overload and Shakira’s Christmas dress, there were more fashion misses than hits last week in music. Check out the best and worst looks from my last segment on The Music Insider.

The Spring 2012 runway presentations brought quite a number of whimsical looks — most notably at Louis Vuitton but as we all know, most runway looks don’t always translate well off the runway. Sarah Jessica Parker who’s a fan of a bit of whimsy herself, recently took one of the gorgeous ensembles from Vuitton out for a spin, attending the UNICEF snowflake ball in a feathered and dyed skirt and blouse combo. Model, Magda Laguinge strutted the look down the runway a few months ago, complete with a monogrammed Vuitton umbrella.
So who wore it best? It was impossible not to fall in love with this look as it came down the runway, it was a perfect spring fantasy realized and brought to life by the incredibly talented Marc Jacobs. That being said, Sarah Jessica took a risk with this look and pulled it off. It was an event appropriate outfit that evoked a certain lightness and charm that not many can pull off. Her look was fresh, playful and edgy at the same time. It also reminds you of something Carrie Bradshaw would wear. This round goes to SJP. What do you guys think? Do you prefer this look on the runway or did Sarah Jessica rock it? Share your thoughts below.
