It’s always great to look to the past for style ideas but fashion is also mostly about looking forward. As the holiday season comes to an end, the ultimate celebration of the year’s end is a New Year’s Eve party and with every party comes the question - what am I going to wear? Many of you have already figured this out but for the last-minute shoppers, here’s a super chic look that will make you stand out from the crowd. 2011 was no doubt a very stylish year in fashion. It was filled with trips taken back in time for style inspiration. In just a few seasons, we visited the 50s, 60s, 70s and even the 80s, taking the best from each era. As we moved through the year, we borrowed from the boys and added a feminine twist, relaxed in colored denim, glittered and sparkled in sequins, went edgy in leather and color blocked ensembles; wild in animal print, ethereal in white, ladylike in peplum and full skirts, popped in gorgeous and shocking color; we went crazy for polka dots and floral print, stayed casual cool in stripes and so much more. Shopping for a cause – Divine Design celebrates 20 years

This past week in fashion events, Los Angeles based charity Project Angel Food celebrated the 20th anniversary of its largest annual fundraiser, Divine Design. Held in Beverly Hills, the shopping extravaganza brought out the big guns in luxury goods and design, featuring an assortment of fashion, beauty, home and gift products from designers like Kay Celine, Brooks Brothers, Barclay Butera, Barbie, Blank Denim, Elizabeth and James, Liz’s Antique Hardware, Trina Turk, Tokidoki, Paul Frank, LA Eyeworks, and Kiehl’s Since 1851 with 100% of the shopping proceeds benefitting Project Angel Food. After so many years in the business, she continues to carry herself with poise, elegance and style, proving that age really is just a number. Attending the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater gala in New York, she stepped out in a gorgeous red taffeta and silk Zac Posen number complete with a flowing train.
