Who wore it best – Gwyneth Paltrow and Zoe Saldana both take on gorgeous green Elie Saab numbers
Looks like green is the couleur du jour and we’re absolutely loving it. Since the holiday spirit is in the air and ’tis the season to shine and be seen in shocking color, it was an absolute delight to see both Gwyneth Paltrow and newly single Zoe Saldana in gorgeous green Elie Saab numbers.
Both adorned with sequins that made each of the stars pop and irresistible silhouettes created by a cinched waist, it’s hard to decide who to crown the winner in this edition of who wore it best?
While Gwyneth Paltrow showed off some major skin and some equally major neck bling, Zoe proves that sometimes, less is more. The t-shirt sleeves on her dress coupled with the column silhouette provide a great balance to the drama of the sequins. Zoe’s look is the definition of elegant simplicity with just the perfect amount of playfulness. Sorry Gwyneth but Zoe takes the crown on this one. What do you guys of both looks? Which do you prefer?

Suffering for fashion – Would you tempt fate in these 8-inch gravity-defying Louboutins?
Christian Louboutin is a master when it comes to the art of shoes. His red soles are recognizable every where and have graced the feet of celebrities, royals and fashionistas alike. It’s no surprise then, that a man who’s been in his field for so long has to push the limits and challenge how far women will go for the love of fashion. On the ‘heels’ of such gravity defying creations like the Alexander McQueen Armadillo platforms (as seen on Lady Gaga, Kelis and Beyonce) as well as the Heel-less Antonio Berardi PVC boots sported by Victoria Beckham, the king of shoes has designed a pair of heels that even the bravest and style-obsessed fashion divas would think twice about.
So what’s Louboutin’s reasoning behind creating these? The French designer who views “the classical dancing ballet slipper <as> the ultimate heel” told The Sun he wanted to create “heels that <would make> dancers closer than any other women to the sky, to heaven”. Yes, these heels look like they could definitely land you in another dimension. All jokes aside however, The Swarovski crystals embellished slippers were designed to raise money for the English National Ballet and they will probably be bought as a display and not for every day wear or for any special occasions for that matter. Share your thoughts on the 8-inch Louboutins below….When it comes to heels, how high do you feel comfortable going?
Last night’s look – Jennifer Love Hewitt finally takes a break from Herve Leger and stuns in green
Jennifer Love Hewitt seems like a sweet girl, a sweet girl who seriously loves Hervé Léger bandage style dresses and by ‘seriously loves’, we really mean ‘seriously loves’ – A LOT. Over the past two years, the actress has shown up in every version of the bandage dress created by designer Max Azria for the Hervé Léger line. If you don’t believe it, scroll down below. Needless to say it was nice to finally see her break away from the same cut and design that she’s strongly favored and doesn’t seem to want to let go of.

Jennifer Love Hewitt attended the premiere of Breaking Dawn in a gorgeous green dress accented with a chic black bow
She attended “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ premiere in Los Angeles last night sporting a green dress with a corset top, slim skirt and black bow belt. The dress was definitely still form fitting and skin tight but it’s ok….baby steps Love Hewitt, baby steps.

Look of the Day – Kerry Washington is a winter princess in white Donna Karan
As the holiday season approaches, the red carpet starts to see a hint of sparkle as well as colors like green, red, white and even ice blue. Who could forget Leighton Meester’s gorgeous Elie Saab number from last year. Spotted in this year’s must have look is actress, Kerry Washington in a dramatic tea-length Donna Karan frock. A great inspiration for upcoming holiday parties, this dress not only makes a statement, it retains an elegant poise while doing so. From the gorgeous whimsical skirt, which carries just the right amount of volume to the transparent stripes, this dress is like a piece of art. Kerry’s look is completed with a simple embellished envelope clutch and blush Louboutins. What do you think of Kerry’s Donna Karan frock? Are you impressed? Share your thoughts below…
Fashion round-up: Chic looks of the week
From Kirsten Dunst’s sweet gingham print dress to Kristen Stewart’s bold Monique Lhuillier number and Kate Hudson’s golden Gucci look, this past week was filled with some very out of the box looks as well as the traditional party outfits. Some other drool worthy looks included Blake Lively, who delved deep into the midst of shocking color–sporting a red leather trench to a Christian Louboutin book event, Katie Holmes going for bronze and proving that relaxed elegance is achievable and Jenifer Hudson showing off her svelte figure and animal instincts in Michael Kors. Here’s a round-up of this week’s most fashionable looks…

Who wore it best – From the runway to the carpet (Model vs. Selena Gomez in Marchesa)
This week’s battle of who wore it best is over a gorgeous embroidered Marchesa top. Filled with exquisite details and channeling the ballet meets high glamour, this piece is not easy to pull off. Selena Gomez stepped out at MTV’s European Music Awards sporting the Marchesa creation with a tousled do, silver peep-toes, a red box clutch and no pants, looking slightly overwhelmed.
Her version has also been modified from the original which featured more tulle on the sleeves and on the neck giving it a much more Victorian feel. Kudos to Selena for stepping out of her comfort zone but I’m giving the model the crown on this one. In addition to making the mistake of wearing this top as a dress, what we have here is an unfortunate case of the dress wearing the owner and her stylist should have known better. The top is dramatic enough and didn’t need her overwhelming waves to compete with. Her hair should have been pulled back to bring focus to the stunning cut of the top’s high neck.
I also love the contrast created by the leather pants on the model. Bringing a sleek and modern element to the look continues to play on the edginess that the top is going for while maintaining a clean balance between the top and bottom. Who do you think won this battle? Selena or the model? Share your thoughts below…
Trend spotting – All hail the Greek goddess

Emma Stone attends the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in a green Grecian goddess gown with gold accessories by Lanvin
Before the “goddess” title became synonymous with Charlie Sheen’s summer antics, it actually was associated with beauty, grace and elegance. In terms of fashion, there’s a reason why the goddess style dress has endured for so many seasons. Evoking the very essence of a woman’s beauty and femininity, it doesn’t overwhelm but in fact enhances. Draped to perfection on the wearer, its simple but elegant cut is what makes it stand out. As awards season approaches, this trend will no doubt be prominent on the red carpet and stars like Jessica Biel, Freida Pinto, Emma Stone and many others have already gotten a head start on the trend. What do you think of the goddess style dress. Are you a fan? Share your thoughts below…

Jessica Biel wears Giambattista Valli's modern take on the goddess dress featuring a keyhole bust and oversized layered puff sleeves. The look is completed with a traditional gilded leaf belt.
