Trend spotting – The “mini” revival (How short can you go?)
Summer is always a time to show off some skin especially those gorgeous gams that you’ve spent months laboring for at the gym unless you’re genetically blessed, in which case, trotting around in a pair of stilletos is all you need.
Speaking of stilletos in relation to the topic du jour, the higher those Louboutins and Choos seem to get, the shorter the hemlines seem to recede. Although many argue that the miniskirt may have existed as long as civilization has (recently unearthed ancient figurines dating between 5400-4700 B.C show women in mini skirts) ; Thanks to the 60s, a politically charged era of liberation, revolution and change, the mini resurfaced again at the fore front of the fashion movement.
The skirt has seen so many variations of length from the lady like, full skirt of the 50s to the mid length cut of the 70s and the super short hemlines of the 80s and 90s respectively.
In today’s culture, it’s emphasized that sex sells and shock value keeps people wanting more. So the question is how short can you go? Check out some short looks from your favorite celebs below and tell us what you think…too short or just enough + is there an age limit for certain lengths?

As the "legs" of the Venus brand, the newly separated Jennifer Lopez shows off her perfectly oiled assets

Age is clearly nothing but a number as the 41 years old star went short and white in a coat dress in Paris

Another Jennifer who likes showing off her legs in minis is Jennifer Aniston, here in a shimmering black dress

Still showing off her legs, she takes a walk on the wild side with this black and gold Emilio Pucci sequined mini

Fashion at the ‘Brits to watch’ event – Details on Kate’s dress, trends and other stylish stars on the carpet
This past weekend brought the Royals to the City of Angels. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge performed their charitable duties and found time to mingle with Hollywood’s elite. Of course, all eyes were on what Kate was wearing. Here’s a breakdown of the gorgeous red carpet looks…
Light and airy were the words when it came to style on the red carpet at the BAFTA Brits To Watch event in downtown Los Angeles.

Of course there was no absence of shocking color…
Other stars went metallic for the night…
The unfortunate…

Unfortunately, Actress Dana Delany picked the wrong time to experiment with her style. Her printed mermaid gown did absolutely nothing for her and her multi-colored fur stole was not only completely out of place at the event but also uncalled for on a summer evening.
After making their way inside, Hollywood got a chance to meet the British Royalty one on one…

I could tell by the multiple helicopters hovering above me earlier this evening that the royals had descended on Hancock Park, Los Angeles. The couple is being hosted by Consul-General Barbara Hay during their stay. On Saturday evening they’ll get a taste of Hollywood at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts “Brits to Watch” event where they’ll also rub elbows with Hollywood royalty like Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lopez. The Duchess who’s kept a very simple and fuss-free wardrobe since starting her North American tour kept her most recent outfit simple, elegant and chic in a lavender dress by Roksanda Ilincic while the Duke looked dapper in a navy blue suit.
